Canceling Locals is NOT tricky or time consuming. These instructions are device specific so please read carefully for the option that applies to how YOU have signed up.
IMPORTANT: If you paid for Locals with a credit card your subscription has been canceled automatically (as of 08/24/2021) and you only need to unsubscribe from the group and delete the application if you have been using that. When you cancel you may see a message that alerts that you need to contact us to cancel, this step has already been completed and there is no need to contact us. To sum up: Your paid subscription that you sign up for with a credit card or PayPal has been canceled, there is no need to contact us to cancel but you should go ahead and leave the group and delete the application if you have it.
If you are using the Locals currency “Coins” and being billed through Apple or Google please keep reading.
If you want to cancel your coins subscription and stop it from auto-renewing here is how to do it from your computer:
On ANY Computer Browser/From the Locals website:
Here is how to remove it from your internet browser.
Open the browser and go to Locals.com then click on your profile and go to Manage Profile. Then click on BILLING & SUBSCRIPTIONS. Click the “Manage” button, for Coin Subscription.
You will see the option to turn auto-renew on or off. If turned on, you will automatically get charged once a month (in the amount of whichever coins package you chose) and coins will be added to your wallet regardless of your activity or participation in our community or if we delete our community pages. Turning auto-renew off will disable this feature.
If you were using Locals via the Locals application on your device or computer your method of payment was purchasing ‘Coins’ through iTunes or Google Play. Meaning that you purchased the coin subscription directly from Locals so you will need to cancel it within your phone's app store subscription settings.
Directly on the Locals app:
1. Open the Locals app
2. Click on your profile photo to open the Settings
3. Click on MANAGE SUBSCRIPTIONS and cancel your subscription to Bariatric Eating on Locals.
On your iPhone or iPad:
1. First, open the settings app and tap on your name.
2. Then, tap on the "Subscriptions" tab.
3. (Note that you might not automatically see this tab. In that case, tap on iTunes & Appstore)
4. Next, tap on your Apple ID. View Apple ID then sign in and scroll down to the "Subscriptions" button.
5. Next, tap on Locals com (subscription) you want to review.
6. Now, Tap on Cancel.
7. (Note that if you don't see a "Cancel Subscription" button for Locals.com, then it's definitely canceled already. It won't be renewed anymore).
On a Mac computer.
To cancel Locals com subscription on your Mac, do the following:
1. First open the Mac App Store, then click on your name at the bottom of the sidebar.
2. Click on the "View Information" tab at the top of the window and sign in if asked to do so.
3. Scroll down on the next page shown to you until you see the "Subscriptions" tab then click on "Manage".
4. Click "Edit" beside the Locals.com app and then click on "Cancel Subscription".
On ANY Computer Browser/From the Locals website:
Here is how to remove it from your internet browser. Open the browser and go to Locals, then click on your profile and go to Manage Profile. Then click on BILLING & SUBSCRIPTIONS and it should be there.
On your Android device
To cancel Locals com subscription on Android, you need to realize that deleting the Locals com app alone won't cut it. Follow the steps below:
1. First, open the Google Play Store. If you have multiple Google accounts, be sure you're signed into the right one.
2. Click on menu, then go to "Subscriptions".
3. Choose the Locals.com subscription you wish to cancel and tap on the "Cancel Subscription" option.
4. Finish up as directed.
Once your Locals com subscription has been removed from Google Play, your future subscriptions will be cancelled and won't be renewed anymore.
IMPORTANT: Always make sure to use the exact username and ID you used to set up the subscription to manage that subscription when necessary. This is sometimes different from the Apple ID or Android brand ID you have set up.
If you don't remember your password however, contact the App for help/to reset password.
To remove the Locals App
Delete Locals from iPhone or iPad.
