:We are Losers in the best way!
This is going to be long, because what I have to say is terrifically important.

I’m making this post public to all Members, not just supporters because we are so incredibly proud of each person who participated in last month’s Inspire Diet Challenge. Each of you who participated deserves a pat on the back and more than that.

From the beginning of the Challenge we encouraged all who participated to think of this as more than a weight loss challenge, that our work as Post-Ops is more than just to lose the weight. We need to push ourselves to learn as much as possible about ourselves and to challenge ourselves to grow beyond our old ways that led us into the Operating Room for weight loss surgery. We need to work on our mindset every step of the way.

And that’s a big focus during the Challenge. Those of you who have participated in one know that daily we give you new ideas, new concepts, education on how you body works, how your mind can work for or against you. Daily we challenge you to step out of your comfort zone so you can do some magical things, and truly change your lives.

So because of that, we want to share some of the many things people learned over the past month as they worked through the Challenge with us. These were elected because each person called out something we specifically try to help with during the challenge because those lessons are often the biggest road blocks we have as Post-Ops, no matter if we’re just starting out or already have a Regain. So I hope you read these, you may see something you’ve been trying to conquer here!

So why are we telling you to weigh everyday?

If you've been doing our March Inspire Diet Challenge you know that one of your daily tasks on each check-in is to weigh yourself.

There's a few reasons we've discussed before, and on our website (this article: https://www.bariatriceating.com/blogs/bariatric-advice-and-support/the-scale-friend-or-enemy ) but there's a bigger reason than the truly important getting to know your body.

It's to make peace with what your MIND seems to think will happen when you start losing weight again.

You see one of the biggest things that no one talks about, and trips EVERYONE up is that during our initial stages as a post op we are dropping a pond or more DAILY. Now we've said this before and we'll say it again, no matter how hard you are working that first year it's not YOU it's the surgery. People here who couldn't get to goal, and those to got to goal and regained can attest to the fact that your Surgery is driving the bus for at least the firs year, and if you're lucky the first year and a half.
