It makes me so much happier to read posts in our premium group than the same on Facebook. I am so tired of wrasslin with people over cream cheese, that "sprinkle" of cheddar they fight for, drinking with meals and folks who in general are NOT vested in their success. They think having obesity surgery was the magic button and laugh all the way to the weigh ins during that first 7 months when they are still sneaking pizza but the weight is falling from them.
Lets be real for a moment. We ALL know how we grew ourselves to the category of Morbid Obesity. We may have said out loud, to anyone near us, how confusing our weight was to us "BECAUSE WE DID NOT EAT MUCH" the reality is that we know we ate fattening foods in high volumes. It wasn't moderation, it was because we at the whole thing, all of it, more than normal. We didnt pay attention to HIGH FATS or sugar in a food. We layered the cheese, bacon, ranch ON the burger with that side of fries, while our slim sister had a salmon Caesar salad and didnt touch the rolls. Slim people do not eat Chicken Alfredo, with bread sticks soaked in garlic butter, they just do not. Slim friends DO NOT drive through McDonalds on the way home from work for a SNACK. They do not, trust me. Our behavior was abhorrent and bizarre and we paid the price for it.
We ate a LOT more than slim people around us. Dispute that and you need a checkup from the neck up as you are living in the land of Delusion. It was easier to believe we didnt eat much than take responsibility for our plight.
Once having had stomach removal surgery, it behooves us to claim that responsibility or we 1. will not get to goal or 2. we will get close but slide right back into the morbid obesity pool .
The TRICK to it all? Find NEW foods to love. Eat the burger in a bowl with the lettuce tomato and onion and CHOOSE ONE FAT. Right now it is strawberry season! Buy some and make a Strawberry Pie for the family for after they all eat their burger bowls... its the best pie you have ever had, EVERYONE will love it. Its sugar free and it is a dessert. Serve a wedge to everyone with a dollop of Cool Whip or splooge of Redi Whip on it. I am a big fan of being proactive and making something delicious yet sugar free once every month, SO I NEVER GET TO THE POINT WHERE I WANT TO BUY AND EAT DONUTS.
Find new ways to feed yourself and your family. ONE PROTEIN ON THE PLATE WITH A CUP OF VEGETABLE. After supper, have half a cup of cut up watermelon cubes. That's life after bariatric surgery. Live it in size ten skinny jeans and a top with horizontal stripes and a BIG OLE SMILE.
Let me know you are out there and that you LOVE this forum as much as I do!
Can we do an old fashioned ROLL CALL for Strawberry Pie. Life is good in skinny jeans IF you embrace the change.
IF you aren't sure and are not yet a supporter, what are you waiting for? Jump in!

If you've been doing our March Inspire Diet Challenge you know that one of your daily tasks on each check-in is to weigh yourself.
There's a few reasons we've discussed before, and on our website (this article: https://www.bariatriceating.com/blogs/bariatric-advice-and-support/the-scale-friend-or-enemy ) but there's a bigger reason than the truly important getting to know your body.
It's to make peace with what your MIND seems to think will happen when you start losing weight again.
You see one of the biggest things that no one talks about, and trips EVERYONE up is that during our initial stages as a post op we are dropping a pond or more DAILY. Now we've said this before and we'll say it again, no matter how hard you are working that first year it's not YOU it's the surgery. People here who couldn't get to goal, and those to got to goal and regained can attest to the fact that your Surgery is driving the bus for at least the firs year, and if you're lucky the first year and a half.
So by ...
