Easter Sunday SURVIVAL TIP

Ok everyone! I HOPE that you guys aren't planning on a "cheat meal" for Easter Sunday. Because you know that won't work...and cheat meals are what leads us to needing the Inspire Diet in the first place right? RIGHT.

Many of you are not new to BE and how we roll with Holidays...but since it’s Easter right after we closed up our first Inspire Diet Challenge I thought it's a good time to talk about it. So here's how it goes down:

See we THINK we can be strong, especially since we all did SO well on the Challenge. But what happens is that people that that mindset and go ahead and get the "Old" foods and dishes they always celebrate with as Pre-Ops. THEN....you start having some second guesses and what happens next? You start looking a little too long at the full sugar carrot cake on the counter as dinner is going on. Or maybe you snuck a Cadbury Egg while you were waiting no the ham to finish cooking. Then your hands hesitated over the basket of rolls but then dart BACK into your lap as you pass that basket along. But mostly when we think we can be strong because we are focused on our goals we become uncomfortable with the situation and the people you are with? They notice you sitting there awkwardly nibbling on a teeny bit of sliced ham with an odd look on your face or with NOTHING while they are eating macaroni and cheese and you watch every bite.
So they offer you something....which makes you start talking about what, and why and whatever. And sure enough, out of politeness they say things like "Just this once?" or "Oh...it's Easter, you can have some, it’s a special day right?!”
NOT because they don't get it.
NOT because they aren't supportive.

They say these things because :
YOU ARE MAKING THEM FEEL WERID
You are staring at them eating while taking sideways glances at the buffet table and they noticed. So drop the "But Sugar Free Desserts are a HUGE trigger." You don't have to make a dessert. SAY that out loud YOU DON’T HAVE TO MAKE DESSERT. You don't have to bring cheese and veggies, or a salad, or the ham. You just need to find SOMETHING so that you can PARTICIPATE and everyone has an awesome time.

Here is our super delicious Easter Menu…everything on it would be totally PERFECT while on the Inspire Diet.

So why are we telling you to weigh everyday?

If you've been doing our March Inspire Diet Challenge you know that one of your daily tasks on each check-in is to weigh yourself.

There's a few reasons we've discussed before, and on our website (this article: https://www.bariatriceating.com/blogs/bariatric-advice-and-support/the-scale-friend-or-enemy ) but there's a bigger reason than the truly important getting to know your body.

It's to make peace with what your MIND seems to think will happen when you start losing weight again.

You see one of the biggest things that no one talks about, and trips EVERYONE up is that during our initial stages as a post op we are dropping a pond or more DAILY. Now we've said this before and we'll say it again, no matter how hard you are working that first year it's not YOU it's the surgery. People here who couldn't get to goal, and those to got to goal and regained can attest to the fact that your Surgery is driving the bus for at least the firs year, and if you're lucky the first year and a half.
